As we Fellowship....

Several times a year, we gather for church-wide fellowship activities. Whether it's coming together for a friendly, but yes, sometimes competitive, game of Bunco, enjoying a double feature movie night at the church, combining forces for our annual Fall Festival, one of our biggest community outreach events of the year, hosting a meal for our Progressive Dinner or cooking up a feast for the Italian Dinner that follows the Annual Men's Ministry Service Day, there is ample opportunity to stay connected with our church family.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer"
                                                                              ~Acts:2:41-43
Fellowship Groups

What are Fellowship Groups?

Quite often, the question “What is the secret of becoming an effective and healthy follower of Jesus Christ” comes up in conversations at church. Certainly, reading your Bible and praying everyday are key elements. Going to church service on Sunday adds to your hearty growth as a believer too. We could probably name a few more but one thing often gets left out in a Christian’s life if we get too busy. That secret is Fellowship! The bible uses the word Koinonia which simply means fellowship, communion, or oneness.
As a Church, our communion or oneness centers around One Person and One Plan—Jesus Christ and His Great Commission to us. We can’t accomplish this alone or just on Sunday morning. The Bible teaches, and experience supports, that being personally involved in a healthy Fellowship of Believers is essential for growing as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:42-46 says, They [the early Church] devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer …All the believers were together and had everything in common…Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  Our culture today doesn’t allow us to connect with one another every day as believers but our Fellowship Groups are designed to give you the opportunity to join other believers in encouraging one another, praying for one another, helping one another to grow, and just having a great time as fellow believers.  Fellowship is not the only secret to growing as a believer but it sure is an important one.

Our Fellowship Groups

Church Office Bldg                         Monday Night 6:30
                Forestdale
We try to start actual “study” time around 7:00, and end between 8:00 and 8:30, concluding in a snack time.  We can be crazy or silly, but we love the Lord, and are very firmly convinced that anyone who chooses our group is discerning, worthy of great loyalty, and just generally rocks!

Howard Home                          Wednesday Night 6:30
                 Sandwich
We have a very diversified group from new Christians to some that have been following the Lord for over 30 years.  We look at scriptures and see how the Lord would have us apply it to our lives, sharing and praying for one another.

 Lerch Home                              Thursday Night 6:30
                  Sandwich
We are a diversified, energetic group.  In addition to studying scripture or watching a Christian-based video series, we’ve also been known to engage in a variety of community centered activities. Generally, we have a brief time of fellowship, followed by an hour or so of “study”, and finish the evening with refreshments.  Our kids often open the study time in prayer with us, then head off to play in the basement play room.
